Filtered sub output

Im new to audio & just bought a Onkyo TXDS595 reciver & Im trying to find out is the sub output on the reciver filtered or non filtered? & any sugestions re hookup of the sub is appreciated. I have a Polk PSW650 with LFE input & Line. Which should I use with my TXDS 595 reciver? Is one better or clearer than the other? Any help is appreciated.

Yes it is filtered through the LFE. Use the LFE.
