Rotel makes a couple of good 5 channel amps. The 120 wpc RMB-1075 msrp for about a grand. And the 200 wpc RMB-1095 for under $2000.

I have the same Denon, and I`m now using a Parasound HCA-2205a, but I was using a couple of Rotel RB980BX`s, and it sound Real good..

I like Rotel and Parasound amps, and even though I have never experienced one, I hear Outlaw does a good job for a fair price..

Ok, first off are you wanting a receiver or an amplifier?? If you are looking for a multi-channel amp the B&K line is excellent, as is Parasound, you want something with high current for 2 grand at least 50-75 ampres. The more the better, look at the weights of each its a tip off these amps are heavy. I only mentioned two but their are just so many to choose from.

If you are looking for a receiver, then the NAD, Rotel or Outlaw, dont think you can get a new B&K for under 2000 but they are excellent.

You need to do some research but would be a nice time to upgrade from your Denon.

I recently bought the Arcam AVR300 after trying out several other pieces of equipment at home including NAD separates, the Outlaw 1070, and tube amps. I find Arcam to have better definition than NAD. It's also a more expensive line of equipment but worth the extra expense. The FM tuner is much better than the Outlaw 1070. I no longer need a dedicated 2 channel system to enjoy music.

The AVR300 amp has biamping feature that is unique for a AV receiver. I have assigned Channel 6 and 7 to biamp the left and right front speakers of my SDA SRS 3.1TL's. I'm using Monitor 7's for the side sourrounds, center channel and subwoofer set to none.

    front: Polk 3.1TL w/ RD0198-1 tweeter

Cool. Good to see some folks getting Arcam receivers. Arcam is a well respected brand. I've been wondering how good their receivers are.
