I am going to mount a set of rt55is on the wall. I have 7ft. a celling and using a BT-77 mount(unless somebody has a better one). How far up on the wall can I put them? I would like 2 mount up as high as I can and **** the mount down, Tilts down 7° or up 7°. Where is the best place for them? Thanks jack

Now your talkin'...dead center on a stud should work.Denon #2900, Denon stereo receiver, Conrad Johnson Sonographe 120 amp, Blue Jeans cables, and Klipsch RF-7's

And use long screws. I don't know how thick the mounting plate for the speaker hanger you plan on using is. But add that to 1/2" for the drywall and figure the stud is 3 1/2" thick. FWIW, I wouldn't use anything less than 3'" screws. -
.....and not drywall screws either....the shank is thin and brittle.Denon #2900, Denon stereo receiver, Conrad Johnson Sonographe 120 amp, Blue Jeans cables, and Klipsch RF-7's

I used a 1/4 lag screw 3 1/2 in. long, into a stud to mount fx 1000s.

Lag screws are very strong ....most people get into trouble by simply not knowing how to hit the stud.Denon #2900, Denon stereo receiver, Conrad Johnson Sonographe 120 amp, Blue Jeans cables, and Klipsch RF-7's
