That's great! Maybe I'll notice a proportionate reduction in price next time I fill up.

BIZILL, what're you driving that they want you to use premium?

'94 z-28 camaro with a tired engine. fuc* it, i've used 89 octane vs. 91/92 for months with no noticable degradation in performance whatsoever. that is not to say i might not be doing harm to the engine and/or emmissions.

I would imagine that after 11 years of wear and tear (hey, you did say you beat on it :p), the octane difference would be the least of your worries performance wise. I also don't personally see why 87 octane would hurt the engine, but then I'm not familiar with it. Just out of curiousity, what's the compression ratio in it?

supposed to be 10:1. anyway, after the neutral drops and brake stands and things of this sort, you're correct in your assessment of my ocatane performance being the least of my concerns.

Wow $1.99 per gallon, I pay $1.48 (nz) per Liter, it costs a fortune to fill up my old merc. since the rise in prices i tend not to fill up so much, but last time i filled the merc it was $110, too much

    i never said i was stock. ;)

naw, just some basics: k&n intake system, eibach, firmness adjustable shocks, msd ignition, hypertech programmer (which even gives option for firmer and quicker shifting) and, oh, yeah, headers. all with 3.23 gears paired to a 4 speed automatic.

now had i had the six speed, yes, i'd have been better off. i believe stock, the sixes come with 3.73 gear ratio.
