Anyone know anything about Marsh Sound Design? Same guy who designed Monster Clean Power. I think it's all new. Anyway I see he offers a Hybrid-tube Pre-amp. but all the catalog says is:
Dual filament triod tubes, Marsh-designed capacitors used in signal path. Toroidial power transformer for low noise and separate power supplies for hi-voltage and low-voltage sections. Model P2000T

The designs are at least a couple of years old. Solid designs all around from everything I've read about his amps and preamps. No first hand experience though. Richard Marsh is a very well respected name in audio design. I recall Zero had a Marsh power amp for a while?

    JFB,

Emlyn’s memory is spot-on. I used the 2000p (solid state) pre amplifier in conjunction with the M200 amplifier. While I can share no real intimate knowledge about design, company back-round, and all that jazz.. I can tell you that the build was fairly solid.

I specifically really enjoyed the amplifier. Very solid, great sounding in balanced mode *better than the Bryston 4BST alongside it*. I have no real complaints against it besides the cheesy power button. A fantastic match for Polks LSi series…!

The solid state pre amp was, well, a solid state pre amp. Nothing to really write home about there. It does what it suppose to do.

The up-side to Marsh is that you get what you pay for and then some, especially when compared to other competitors. The downside is, Marsh will probably not be around nearly as long as many other established companies so odds are you wont have the piece of mind of owning a product that you can get support from 10 or more years from now..

Good point on the piece of mind. I was just curious because a company we deal with is now selling their stuff and I could buy it a wholesale, not that thats much of a savings sometimes! Thanks for your imput:)
