Need some advice on amp purchase

Hey guys, I have the chance to buy a Mcintosh MC206 for $1100 from a seller overseas. His store is in Thialand & his add he says everything is perfect, no scratches & works great. He wants $1000 for it & being overseas I know shipping to florida would be alot, so I said the most I want to pay is $1100 for everything & he accepted. He only wants 50% sent to him before he ships it & after I receive it & check everything out he wants the other half. Would you guys jump on this or does something sound weird? If its legit that's a crazy price for a mint 200x6 mcintosh!

    I actually e-mailed a seller about a Digital camera in that area and e-bay sent me a warning message. Be careful.

    offer to do an escrow and say that you'll pick up the fees. If he's a rip off, he'll refuse/ disappear. If he agrees, well, the escrow fee is worth it.

    That ad has been on several sites, it is BS. The same guy had one of the Mac special edition tube amps that list for $12K for sale not too long ago for $1000, too.

    I wonder how many people have actually sent this person half up front??? I bet you'd be amazed at how many actually have, thinking that they were getting the deal of the century.
