Hi
I have just bought HK235 and Polk RM6900 and am totally new to this world of Home Theaters. I'm looking for some help with the cables:
a. dvd to receiver (optical or coax.?)
b. subwoofer cable (monster/non-monster?)
c. receiver to other speakers (i have 16 guage monster - is that okay? how wud this compare to 12 guage non-monster cable?)
Please recommend something that works great and is not highly priced like the Monster cables.
Thanks
Nitin

Nitin,
Here is a very good thread for you to read:
http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33037
On another note, there are several (hundreds?) of threads in this area on cables and debates about cables. Let me recommend you just spend some time reading this area. You will find there are several opinions and several heated debates. The best thing to do is to read the threads yourself and make your own educated decision.
Every HT forum has their own opinion of cables and cabling and their own fevered debates. Just read, learn, and then make your decision.
BTW...as you can see in my signature, I also went with Bluejeans Cable. I had purchased their RF Isolator to rid myself of a ground-loop hum. The item appeared to have a short in it because my cable signal was reduced and would scramble when it was jiggled. I emailed Bluejeans Cable about it, and they sent me out another one right away. This new one had none of the other bad problems and has been working perfectly.Holydoc (Home Theatre Lover)

Thanks everyone for helping me in making a better choice.
Following is what i have closed on:
BJ Belden 1694A - for DVD ->receiver
BJ Belden 1505F - for receiver -> Subwoofer
BJC (12 guage) - for receiver -> surrounds
Monster THX (16 guage) - for receiver -> center and fronts
Just one more question:
what connector type do i need to pick up for DVD->receiver connection? Is that RCA or BNC? (i know it sounds stupid but i am just not able to figure that out).
Thanks

RCA is fine."SOME PEOPLE CALL ME MAURICE,

I use AR pro series II, AQ and 1 monster. For speakers I use kimber. But only cause I never paid full price for 1 cable, gotta love surplus stores !!
