Spent the whole freakin' day doin' it. Alarm clocks were no problem, pushed e'm back on the dresser a little bit. The wall mounted clocks were a bit of a pain though, should have the dry wall patched up pretty soon. Couldn't find an adapter to allow the car stereo to be set back into the dash any further though so I just left the mounting screws out and wedged the head-unit in place with some folded up cardboard.

This so stupid cuz I'm just gonna have to fix all this crap again in a few months when we set 'em forward again. Who's hairbrained idea was this anyway?!?

The idea of daylight saving was first conceived by Benjamin Franklin during his sojourn as an American delegate in Paris in 1784, in an essay, "An Economical Project."

Some of Franklin's friends, inventors of a new kind of oil lamp, were so taken by the scheme that they continued corresponding with Franklin even after he returned to America.

The idea was first advocated seriously by London builder William Willett (1857-1915) in the pamphlet, "Waste of Daylight" (1907), that proposed advancing clocks 20 minutes on each of four Sundays in April, and retarding them by the same amount on four Sundays in September. As he was taking an early morning a ride through Petts Wood, near Croydon, Willett was struck by the fact that the blinds of nearby houses were closed, even though the sun was fully risen. When questioned as to why he didn't simply get up an hour earlier, Willett replied with typical British humor, "What?" In his pamphlet "The Waste of Daylight" he wrote:

"Everyone appreciates the long, light evenings. Everyone laments their shortage as Autumn approaches; and everyone has given utterance to regret that the clear, bright light of an early morning during Spring and Summer months is so seldom seen or used."

I still haven't figured out the reason, a good one anyway, why these Indiana folks don't want to be on DST. The new governor is trying to change this, maybe he has and I didn't get the memo, yet.

Isn't there one more state that doesn't change, like Arizona?????

I guess I'm on eastern time now.

I just found out that Indiana will be starting DST in 2006. I'm under the impression that we will be on eastern time. It just seems more logical to me to be on central time, oh well.
