Which speakers would be best?

I been looking to buy a good home theater system. I have a pair of rti4's and a cheap onkyo receiver, and cheap sub. I work at Fry's and get 60% off Polk speakers I just been promoted sales so now i'll be able to afford to buy them. I'm twenty in college and live with my parents I plan to keep the system for several years, but for now they'll be in my room. The bad thing about the discount is that you have to buy everything at once and send the form to Polk and wait up to three months for them to ship it to you. I have another option I can use to buy them right now, I can use my discount and get the Rti10's for $270 each or the Rti8's for $190 each, but I can only save up to $500 and I still have to buy a velodyne dps-12 sub, and a h/k receiver. I can get a few people who can let me have their discount. Other than audio, and a 7800gt video card you don't save much. If I fill out the form I can get the Lsi9's for $400 plus tax.

Are the Lsi bookshelfs alot better than the Rti towers to wait 3 months? If they are i'll wait, I am going to listen to all the speakers right now I've only spent around 5 mins at most listening to each one and right now can't tell the difference maybe I should bring a cd im use to listening to.

I am considering the h/k avr-335 and Velodyne dps-12 sub because those are the best subs Fry's have.
Setup:

2 Channel: Vienna Acoustics Mozart Grand, T+A P 1230R, Primare SPA21, Oppo BDP-105
PC: Vienna Acoustics Haydn Grand, Cambridge Azure 650A v2 , Peachtree iDAC, Denon DVD-3800BDCI

The DPS 12 is a nice sub, what's your discounted price? You can get one online for ~ $400+ shipping. For $400, I'd spend the $470 shipped for a SVS PB10.

Make sure about your pricing on the HK335 as well. The Harman site or ebay/HK Direct maybe cheaper, for a refurb, than a 30% discount , IDK.

Even though the 9s are probably far better speakers (I haven't heard them), you already have the 4s. The 8s would be easier to drive and with a nice sub...There you go.
Pickup a CSi3 or 5 and some FX's down the road. You will have a nice system for a few years and something to shoot for down the road.

    BW Silvers
    Oppo BDP-83SE

gotta worry about driving them with the reciever. if your going the reciever route, with heavy emplhasis on movies over music, go RTi and dont look back

I want the speakers that sound better for music, movies come second. I haven't checked the discount on the sub but it should be close to 40% and the receiver I checked the price for the Avr-235 its normally $500 it's 330 with the discount. If the Rti8's are really good speakers I would rather have them since money is still an issue since I want to build a new computer. However if the lsi9's are worth the 3 months wait i'll wait, but I won't be able to get amps for them atleast not for a long time.

LSi9's are great, I heard the 7 and they sound superb as well. they arent going to sound as superb on that reciever. the LSi's crave high current amplification that your not going to get out of that reciever. Its a great reciever, and it has alot of fans, but seperate components is the way to go with the LSi's, which might be out of budget at the moment. Gotta match your equipment well to get the most bang for your buck. with listening to more music, get the RTi10 instead of the 8. I know someone said something about the PB10 from SVS for a sub, and I've heard nothing but good things. If your more into music, consider the HSU Stf-2 as well as it is even a little less than the SVS and is well known as a great music sub.

60% off! Wow, can you buy us all speakers :). I'd pick up the PSW1000 @ $400 when it finally ships. Hmmmmm....maybe it's time to take a job at Frye's....
