What is the difference, which would be better and why?
No particular models just trying to figure out which one is best !
Thanks

LCD is flat like a plasma; RPLCD is about 15" deep and typically usees one LCD panel for red green and blue. Beyond the size differences the only real difference in issues between the two is bulb life for the RPLCD- things like screen door effect, refresh rates, etc, are the same for the two.Gallo Ref 3.1 : Bryston 4b SST : Musical fidelity CD Pre : VPI HW-19

I have to say that normally what was said is correct, however the new Sony XBR LCD's (flat panel) are really something. The image, in my opinion, is better than their RPLCD's. The 40" especially is really nice, simply because it is the biggest in the line That's still not huge, but it looks great. They will be issuing an LED LCD next year. It's 46" and $13,000!!!! Rumors are it's one of the best looking TV's ever. Who knows?Current System:
