FS: Dodd Audio MLP

I am going to let go my MLP, mainly due to system synergy (or lack thereof) with my Krell 400xi. It has less than 100 hours use, since it is my bedroom system, so hasn't been used that much.
I will throw in a quad of Baldwin 12AX7 that I bought from Dragon1952, along with the supplied quad Sovtek.
Price is $1275 shipped, firm. Preferable Paypal.
Thanks for looking!

I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

Hell of a deal here.
I really dig my MLP with the B&K. This is an absolute first class way to break into tubes or do that upgrade.

Less than half price folks. You buy this one and you'll never need to upgrade again, unless the disease just gets to ya."SOME PEOPLE CALL ME MAURICE,

I've been kicking around the idea of a tube pre. But I have to pay off my Jolida CD and my MF tube buffer first. Anyone want a very lighty used X10v3 tube buffer?
First $300 bucks takes it and I'd go for the Dodd!

MLP and McAlister amp.....hmmmm sounds like something I'd do
You should be very happy Rich."SOME PEOPLE CALL ME MAURICE,

It was great talking with you Francesco! Thanks much!
What can I say Noel.....still waiting for the pre from McAlister. Maybe mid November. Like with the Rotel, the best pre amp stays so the Dodd could pop up back here in a few weeks. Looks like the charge card balance stays high for another month or so.

Nice Bag SComp. I have heard some damm fine tube pre's at a much higher price that have nothing on the Dodd. Going to be cool to hear your thoughts when you do the shootout. And that is what is so cool about CP, one member helping another, win win I say.
Ill check around on your saw, see if I get a nibble, if you like pm me a price you would like to get.

It arrived safely Francesco. Thanks for the great care in packing the tubes and getting it sent out yesterday. High marks!
The Dodd gets along great with my McAlister tube amp. Wow, what an improvement with just an initial listen...... Won't be able to spend much time with it until tomorrow afternoon.Salk SoundScape 8's * Audio Research Reference 3 * Bottlehead Eros Phono * Park's Audio Budgie SUT * Krell KSA-250 * Harmonic Technology Pro 9+ * Signature Series Sonore Music Server w/Deux PS * Roon * Gustard R26 DAC / Singxer SU-6 DDC * Heavy Plinth Lenco L75 Idler Drive * AA MG-1 Linear Air Bearing Arm * AT33PTG/II & Denon 103R * Richard Gray 600S * NHT B-12d subs * GIK Acoustic Treatments * Sennheiser HD650 * -

Oh man, I sure am glad a forum member got this deal. I would have pulled the trigger without question given the product and the seller if I were not already swimming in pre-amps. What a freakin' deal! What about the McAlister pre? Congrats to both of you.

Rich,
I think you might have just found a keeper. I don't have any plans of letting either one of my Dodds go. Now if I can just get the McAlister here before Xmas....."SOME PEOPLE CALL ME MAURICE,

Still waiting for my McAlister pre amp. I had a friend call in a marker so I ended up working all weekend instead of listening to tunes.
I am very impressed with the appearance and performance of the Dodd MLP. High marks for components used and build quality. My system is near dead quiet; with the gain knob at 12 oclock you have to put your ear by the tweeter to hear a slight harmonic hiss. It is definitely a hiss, not a hum. I can't hear anything from a foot away so I'd say thats a good thing.
The first thing I noticed was a more defined soundstage with improved clarity and detail. I tried the Baldwins first and agree with Francesco, the Sovtek's have a better top end. Norah and her piano never sounded better. Bass is most impressive. At present I have a pair of Norm's Nordost Red Dawns between the pre and amp, AudioTruth Lapis between the CDP and pre.Salk SoundScape 8's * Audio Research Reference 3 * Bottlehead Eros Phono * Park's Audio Budgie SUT * Krell KSA-250 * Harmonic Technology Pro 9+ * Signature Series Sonore Music Server w/Deux PS * Roon * Gustard R26 DAC / Singxer SU-6 DDC * Heavy Plinth Lenco L75 Idler Drive * AA MG-1 Linear Air Bearing Arm * AT33PTG/II & Denon 103R * Richard Gray 600S * NHT B-12d subs * GIK Acoustic Treatments * Sennheiser HD650 *
