Component making me see RED

Actually that was a figure of speach, it's quite the opposite. We hooked up comp cables to the TV, the colors are all off, there is no red, it looks brown and the green grass looks brown. I was using AR pro series II cables. We tried calibrating time after time with the same results. I pluged in the Svid and the colors went back to normal and the picture is fantastic. Does anyone have a clue why this has gone on?

This is from my HDcable box to my tv.(actually I used the receiver as a hub)

Thanks

Bad component cable, happened to me with a POS Monster cable once. It was bad right out of the box.

Then I wonder if I should use DVI or HDMI, but they are way expensive compared to component..

    www.shoprbc.com in Bells Corners.

The computer geeks where I work seem to like it there. Apparently their computer PR sucks, but their component cables and stuff are half-price of FS and BB. Good quality too.

I may check out Princess Auto, they have some cables from time to time and dirt cheap.

Sorry, s-video will not provide HD signals to a television.

If I get my new DVD player with dvi/hdmi out, I might be selling my 1.2M MonsterTHX cables (component) if you're interested.
PS Princess Auto had 1.2 M ... "2 RCA/1 S Vid Combo" cable on sale for $6 a while back... I bought 2 of them. VCR for the RCAs and kept the Svid for future use. Plus one complete set.

I love that place that is where I bought all my AR pro series II cables. 2 sets of component 10$ each set. One obviously doesnt work....Let me know if you do sell them. I can't justify the cost of HDMI-DVI right now

I went out and bought a HDMI/DVI combo. Got is home hooked it up and the picture was clear. But on some channels, I noticed there was an edge either on the very top of the screen or to one of the far sides. I never had this issue with component. I will be returning the HDMI/DVI cables tomorrow.(they aren't cheap)

I tried my other comp. cables and it is true the red was shot. I had no problems with the pic (still needs calibration). I also found that when switching channels with the HDMI/DVI combo, it takes the TV a while to recognize the channel, with comp. it's right away.

My mind is made up, I will be using comp. I will now have to go out and buy another pair to hook up my DVD player.

Sometimes the newest tech. is not the best.

Is there a switch on the back or in a menu between 480i and 480p for example? I had the same thing happen with my DVD player, my projector was not compatible with one of the settings and made everything off color.

I used the set up wizard in the STB, I followed the steps and saw all the screens it mentioned and it registered this info. My problem was more geared towards the HDTV and SDTV. My dvd is non progressive, but there is no way I can buy a new player. I don't mind much.

    Hey:

I was told by a couple of the A/V techies here at work that you guys have good quality cables and good prices to boot. Looking for stuff like 1.2 m (4 foot) hdmi/hdmi or dvi/hdmi (which-ever digital-out the new dvd player I pick up has) to go with my 50" DLP TV. Looked at your website but found no cables. You guys have any??

    Thanks
    Jim

Good prices, I paid 90$ for both and that was cause one was on sale for 1/2 off. I am getting my money back today. I hooked component back last night and beautiful pic came about.
