When I worked in Philly I had the chance to meet her, actually a sax player and myself (piano keyboards) were asked to play a tune at her 50 year anniversary tour. I knew it was big deal but was still shocked when we got there and I saw the size of the event. Anyway, I am a better man for having met her. We played Three Times a Lady for her, she was smiling and grinning the whole time, damm if the camera lights did not come on and later that evening there was ole RT1 on the 11:00 evening news tickling the ivories while Ms. Parks rocked with us. I consider it part of my personal 15 minutes of fame and one of those rare pinnacles we sometimes get out of the blue.

May the lady rest in peace.

    RIP

Hopefully she had a wonderful life full of wonderful happy memories. And I hope a lot more people (even though a lot now) realize what she's done
