Finally we take the top spot...after all we do have a win record that includes beating 2 top 10 teams and have beat all but Ohio state by a huge margin...while usc struggled to get by the Irish with the help of some lame **** calls at the end of the game. And best of all we will not lose many players this year...Vince will be back!! Props to Reggie Bush but the team is overrated....watch UCLA fire their asses up come December. Wait I think I hear a sound....ah it is moaning coming from Oklahoma...sounds like bob stoops.......waaaaaaahaaaaahaaaaahaaaaaahaaaaa!!!!

Wait till November and we will see about that. I will opt to take the high road and not bash the aggies...they are rebuilding and surely will someday be a top team again. Reggie Mcneil is a great qb and deseves major props! We have spent a great deal of cash over the years paying for season tickets and been there through good and bad seasons so now I can't help but bask in the glory......did I mention we are number 1 !!

We barely pulled it away from kansas state. We had a 28-3 lead going into the 4th, but our defense and special teams once again tries to destroy it.

as long as someone from texas is number 1:D

if both Texas and USC go undefeated for the remainder of the season, there's a good change that USC will actually reclaim that number 1 slot before the bowl games due to strength of schedule (the reason Texas has it now) - the remainder of their schedule is tougher than the remainder of Texas' schedule, given win-loss stats of the team that each has to face, as they stand today.

Alot of variables involved, but looking at who each scholl has left to play, if they both go undefeated, USC will probably retake number 1.

Doesn't mean much anyway, because one of them is going to win that championship game and be number 1 outright...

Which top 10 teams did UT beat? Oh... that's right... those teams are not top 10 worthy anymore...

If USC and UT win out, I'd put lots of money down saying USC hops back to #1 without breaking a sweat. UT has no one else to play for the rest of the year. And better watch out... my Hokies might leapfrog to #2 if they win out. I guess its nice to play in a real league with real competition

Teams we played and their highest ranking this year. Oklahoma #7, Ohio State #5, Texas Tech #10, Colorado #24......nuff said!! Thats why we went ahead of usc today , we have kicked some ranked booty my friend. The acc is picked as the weakest major conference in football just today in an espn poll. Sure VT is a good team but only #1 and #2 get to play for all the marbles and VT's strength of schedule is killing them. HOOK'EM HORNS.....HE'S VINCE YOUNG **** !!!

Oh and lets not forget how many times usc has had to come from behind this year....We have only been behind for 32 minutes out of 420 played and under 4 minutes if you take out Ohio st....which we beat on their home turf !!!

i am not a texas or usc fan, but i have to say that without Vince Young, Texas would be in alot of trouble. Texas has alot of upcoming talent but nobody can say that Vince Young doesn't carry that team. Now with USC, that is a ballclub that has talent and playmakers coming out of its ears. I am not biased to either school, but it is clear to me that USC may threepete.

When texas losses Vince Young they will have to rebuild, when USC loses Matt Lienart they will reload.

Not hating on Texas, I would love for them to win it all, but we will have to wait and see at the end of the year.

I'm an SEC fan.

If and when they meet for the national championship, USC will beat UT. Why, they are the better team. Plain and simple. Then again, I couldn't be more of a Vince Young un-fan. To me, he is over-rated.

I couldn't agree with you more, but I don't think Vince Young is overrated. I think he is an exceptional athlete. I don't think they will have him taking snaps in the nfl. There are a dozen positions for him to experience with besides qb. When he goes to the nfl combine they may begin to push him or entice him into another postion. Young is very fast, I think he would make a good linebacker due to his size. Again, he is not the best thrower in the league.

Without Lienart and Bush USC is doomed to mediocrity. Our defense is rated way better than theirs ...they are 36th and we are 7th. And if you look at Youngs stats compared to Lienart's consider that Vince has the ability to run the ball. Also remember Texas Tech's Cody Hodges came into the game as the top QB in the country and we stopped him flat out. USC has struggled to beat lesser teams and still has a couple of real fights left to go this year. I predict Bush will get the Heisman this year and Vince will take it next year...and January 4th we win by 14 points in Pasadena !!!

We have had 10 wins every year since he got here in 1998...including a Rose Bowl victory last year. Pretty good record if you ask me.

Just to name a few since you are hung up on bush and leinart. How bout Dale Jarrett, Lindell White, Josh Booty, just to name a few. I hardly doubt usc will miss a beat when leinart and bush leave. Again, if you had the best recruiting class in the last 3 years then how come oklahoma kicked you for the past 5 years in a row? You failed to bring that up. Also if you look at the overall opponents schedule from both usc and texas up to now, usc has like a higher win to loss ratio than texas. I just saw it on espn and they were talking about it. I don't remember but I believe it was texas opp. ration was .583 and usc was .697. Do the research and you will see that usc plays a much harder schedule and texas plays cupcakes for the remainder of the year. Texas big wins are ohio state. I don't include texas tech because they haven't proved anything because they haven't played anybody. We all know about ohio state because they are getting beat this year. That will hurt Texas and mark it down, usc will regain the 1 spot, if not this week than next. I am a realist and I do want texas to win, but please give credit to where it is do.

10 wins don't mean squat if you don't have a title to show for it. You haven't even won a big 12 title in how long?

OU won because they had a better team...period. We have lots of talent and it is young talent...it comes and goes , just ask OU or Texas A&M or Tennessee. I am sure we will fall back to number 2 but will be in Pasadena on Jan. 4th for the big one...then we will see what happens.

I totally agree 100 percent. I am willing to bet that you guys will be in the rose bowl. My only question is will usc be there?
