Anyone else running car subs in the casa?

I've been running an old JL Audio 12 W6 in my home stereo for years. The system is tri-amped, and sounds pretty good. I'm using an old Pioneer 2 channel receiver (100X2) to give the JL 200 watts.
The ghetto home stereo:

Sony ES 200 disk changer
Polk Audio RT 55's (passive crossovers removed)
One JL Audio 12-W6
Carvin 3-way electronic crossover (24 db per octave slopes)
Behringer digital 31-band EQ
Sony 5 channel DVD reciever (fronts power mids, rears power tweets)
Pioneer 2 channel receiver (both channels power the DVC JL sub)

I've got a Cadence XSub enclosure and 350w RMS/4ohm amp. The driver arrived broken, so they sent me another one and told me to keep this one. I'm thinking of putting another 12" driver in it. Talked to PE and got a rec for a fairly nice driver for home and car application. I'm looking for other suggestions.

Sorry about the hi-jack, but it is related :)

    Combo rig:

Onkyo NR1007 pre-pro, Carver TFM 45(fronts), Carver TFM 35 (surrounds)
    SDA 1C, CS400i, SDA 2B
    PB13Ultra RO
    BW Silvers
    Oppo BDP-83SE

Using three, 2-channel amplifiers to power three sets of speakers, like tweets, mids, and woofers. I guess you could say that my setup isn't a "true" tri-amp setup being 4 of the channels are from one receiver or "amp", but it works on the same principal. I'm not using any passive crossovers, and each speaker is powered by it's own dedicated channel.

I built a home theater sub for my kid out of an Eclipse titanuim 8" driver. With over 2 1/2" peak to peak excursion, it gets the job done and then some!

Wouldn't using three two channel amps to power three speakers just be bi-amping? Or are you talking about powering a single pair of 3 way speakers with an amp on each driver...

m_w - There really isn't enough clear information to get a real accurate picture of the total system but it sounds as though he has attempted to loosely build the equivalent of a Home Stereo using a Car Stereo approach..... or is that kinda build the equivalent of a CS in his home to use for a HS?

Are you sure you aren't confusing the terms speakers and drivers?

I've used car subs at home before. With the proper enclosure, amplification and crossover, and in some cases EQ, they can sound excellent and work really nicely.

Ok, I wasn't sure if it was just the sub involved from the world of CS or not. I can see where they'd probably do a pretty good job with a good enclosure.
