In addition to the Canadian channels produced by the satellite service licensees:

SIRIUS Canada will offer programming channels provided by U.S.-based SIRIUS Satellite Radio inc., which owns 20% of the shares of SIRIUS Canada. The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and Standard Radio Inc. hold the balance of the shares, with 40% each.
CSR will offer channels provided by U.S.-based XM Satellite Radio Inc. CSR owner John Bitove, is a Canadian citizen and resident.

    Found this at Future Shop:

The launch of satellite radio is one of the most anticipated product launches in recent history in the Canadian market place.

Satellite Radio offers you the opportunity to listen to your favourite music almost anywhere in North America. It is a subscription based radio service that broadcasts a signal from thousands of miles out in space. You will be able to get in your car in Victoria and drive to St.John's listening to the same station! There are 2 different Satellite Radio providers (XM & Sirius) and both will be available at Future Shop.

I know it says car but if I can get it in my car (I don't want to) then I should get it at home.

Does the canadian market get DirecTV? If so XM is coming to DirecTV as their "music choice" channels.

If it isn't offered, I wonder if you had a receiver whether it would work anyway. I took my receiver with me to Mexico 4 months ago and it worked fine at the Camp Grounds...

I don't think we are going to get direct TV. The CRTC is quite anal.
