The front cover screen on the left hand one had a defect in the cloth(about an inch and a half area where the cloth doesn't quite reach to the edge) I called OneCall.com where I ordered it and they are supposed to see if Polk will send me a replacement.
I hooked them up and they seem to work fine. Unfortuneately I won't have much time to listen to them today since I have to go to a meeting this evening.
I am just finishing some equipment upgrade. I have two 15 year old large Cerwin Vegas that I have moved to the rear, a center channel bose,a velodyne sub, and now the LSi15 for the fronts. I have also recently purchased Denon AVR-3806 receiver, Denon DVD-3910 DVD player and two Outlaw 2200 monoblocks to go with the polks up front. I know this is a weird hodge-podge of speakers but I don't want to spend any more right now. I mainly wanted to be able to play my collections of SACD's and DVD audio discs in the family room. I already have a matched set of Polk satellites and subwoofer with DVD-A and SACD in the bed room.
Tomorrow I will really be able to have a good listen. By the way I tried the monoblocks on my old cerwin vegas and thought they sounded quite a bit better.

Congratulations Gright! Remember to let the speakers break in for a few weeks. Much like driving a new car. After that period of time, they'll really begin to open up.

    congrats sounds good...

as long as you like stero listening then you should be fine but I would upgrade at least the center with a polk center for any kind of surround audio listening or home theater use.

    thats about it...

    Enjoy!

Congrats! I'm sure those LSi15's won't disappoint! Good idea to get the monoblocks to power the LSi's; that Denon wouldn't be able to cut it.

I understand about your 'hodge-podge' of speakers. We get where we want to be in steps, and sometimes that leaves us with some pretty awkward set-ups in the meantime.

However, like Schris22 said, you should make sure your speakers (especially in the front) are more closely tambre-matched for surround audio listening. I'm pretty sure Bose and Polk aren't quite tambre-matched!! :p

I had it in mind that my next purchase would be the LsiC and I would probably have to get another monoblock to go with it, but in reality the bose probably didn't match the Cerwin Vegas any better than the polks will and for now I have spent all I want to for a while. Some people seem to indicate that getting a single LSi9 is better than the LSiC for a center speaker.

The Lsi15 is gonna be quite a change from CV's. Especially in the midrange/treble department, but for the good.

I have been a fan of multi-channel sound ever since my father bought me a new Ford Thunderbird that had a quadriphonic eight track player back in 1977 when I was a senior in high school. I used to just sit in the car and listen to it. There was a Jim Croce quad tape that I particularly enjoyed no matter how many times I listened to it. I was certainly surprised when 4 channel surround sound didn't last.
Of my new SACD's I have some done by Allison Krause and her band that are my current favorites. They are the same group that did most the music in the movie "Brother Where Art Thou?", it you saw it. I also have a multichannel copy of "Bat out of Hell" by meatloaf I really enjoy. . . . and ofcourse there are others.

I finally got to have a good listen today and I must say I am more than pleased with my new LSi15's. Up to now I could only listen to my SACD's and DVD-A discs on a sub/satellite HT system in the bedroom. The music sure sounds richer on four full size speakers, a center and a sub, and when I just listened to some stereo discs on the LSi15's it also sounded great. It's almost like getting to hear the music for the first time when the sound is so much better.
