Center Speaker mounts

I plan on purchasing a CSi3 center speaker and mounting it up high on my ceiling (I know not a good spot). Does anyone sell speaker mounts for center speakers (I guess 2 brackets to span across studs) that will allow me to tilt the center down to the listening area? I know B-tech sells a center mount but it doesn't look so great and doesn't allow tilting. Do you think I could modify there bookshelf mounts (buy 2) and place one on each end? This would mean cutting one end of the bracket (the bracket is designed to "grip" a bookshelf speaker).
Thanks for all yoru help.

If you know it is not a good spot, then why do it? Good Luck.Michael
In the beginning, all knowledge was new!

Build a shelf and use door stops to tilt it, how about putting it under the TV ?

My entertainement center doesn't have space to place the speaker below or above the TV. If I am able to get the speaker to tilt down, do you think the effect would be the same as having it above the TV?

Getting the ceiling mounted center to properly align to your listening position wont be easy. You also have to worry about early reflections that you may or may not have to eliminate. You would also have to make the shelf very sturdy and rigid to help with sound reproduction. A flimsy shelf will definately not help your center perform to its peak. Since your center processes a very large percentage of your movie sounds/music etc I would do my best to make it sound good. If its not done properly it could essentially make or break your experience.
Will it sound the same as above the tv..? No. You are now placing the the center close to a wall/ceiling which will change how it sounds..this could be a blessing or a curse. You will only be able to tell once you get it up there and listen.
Any possibility of building/buying a center channel speaker stand and place it in front of the tv? -
Thanks for all yoru input. If I can squeeze the center above the TV (which I don't think I can, but I will check again), it will still be surrounded by surfaces - the TV below, the top of the entertainment center above, and the sides of the entertainment center. Does the center need to be in an open environment? My wife would probably not want to see the center on top of the entertainment center but I guess that is an option.

I know this may suck but you could always run the centre as Fantom...and return the speaker (if you still can) or buy a new TV stand.

The center does not need to be in an open environment at all. I was just syaing that once you put a cabinet in a cabinet it completely changes the way the speaker sounds..so you just have to adjust accordingly to compensate for what frequencies go up and which ones go down.
Putting it on top of the center is also a viable option.(WAF permitted) I suggest placing some type of rubber bottom to it or something to seperate it from the center structure.
If you have some spare rubber feet lying around from an old center or table etc you can use those. Or buy a set at your local hardware store. If you really want to get fancy you can get a set of these.
