Fritz'd cable hookup problem

Okay I should have asked this a few months ago when it happened but we had a power outage. A couple days after the power outage I flipped on my tv and noticed that about 75% of the channels below 25 (I get up to 59 or something) are all messed up and fuzzy. Most unwatchable because the sound and picture is so bad. Some channels like 2, which is the listings to show what all the channels are playing, are blended with other channels and no longer exist. It's almost as if I have no cable, but just an antenna for those channels. The coax cable that brings my room sweet television is split from my dad's room so that both my brother and I can get cable. The problem does not reside in the splitter though because it is only my tv that is affected with this problem. Any ideas? Did I fritz the tuner in my tv somehow?
Thanks,
Michael

Check to be sure that the tuning method is CATV in the TV set up... There will be a switch/ button/ menu depending on the vintage of the TV.Gallo Ref 3.1 : Bryston 4b SST : Musical fidelity CD Pre : VPI HW-19

I'm asuming CATV stand for cable tv? If so then yes it already is in cable mode....

In that case, I've got nothin... how old is the tv? UHF kicks in somewhere around there... i think... do you have a coax hook up, or do you use one of those funky Ant->coax adapters?Gallo Ref 3.1 : Bryston 4b SST : Musical fidelity CD Pre : VPI HW-19

The tv is two or three years old. It's a 20" panasonic CT-20D11DE. I use a straight coax. Since my brother has the exact same tv and comes from the same splitter and has no problems like mine, I'm thinking it's something to do with my tv.
