Ok yall know i got the Monarchy passive pre karma and i also have a sonic impact amp modded to a new case and stuff.. well tonight i decided to try something i been wanting to do for awhile.. Sonic impact amp integrated with monarchy passive pre with pass through output Rca's for a sub...
I essentially put my SI amp board, binding post, Led and power switch in the monarchy case. It now has 2 gold Rca inputs, one set of gold Rca outputs for a sub, and left and right amped binders from the Si amp. imputs on the right side.. all the rest in back. 12v power jack in back.. Blue Led in front and power switch on left side. I need to take pics shortly.. its real neat.
I want to paint the case hammered black to match my power supply i had for the SI amp which is being used for this also. sounds great, wish it wasnt passive in a way so it had more output voltage then what the source provides.
so now its a passive pre with integrated amp.. Oh and large volume knob on the front center of case.
will post pics when i get back
one question, The inputs are chained together inside. and when i hook the second source up and drops the volume out on the current source. do i need a rotary selector switch or can i just wire a off/on dual pole switch and drop the ground on one source to enable the other or what? lemme know

Very neat project. I like it. Why don't you just use one source at a time. Once you add a selector switch, you're putting it in the signal path.

Its passive and minimal.. so i could just switch the IC's to keep it clean. I listen mostly to the FM tuner so it would be fine, By the way seen your thread on running 2 pre's.. so actually im just useing this old pioneer control pre as the input selector and then out to the SI integrated for now.. walaa i have both sources hooked up and even can control volume/inputs via my pronto remote..MY HT RIG:

That's awesome. Do you plan to keep it that way? Actually, wtf was I thinking. Add the selector switch if you want. This isn't for your reference rig right?

Nah, this is a secondary rig... I sold my reference rig but it will be replaced next year some time.. this will suffice for now then get moved to the bedroom...MY HT RIG:
