oooooops!!!!! I should have asked, but if I fried a 30 dollar amp, it wouldnt break my heart

sda 1b's only have one binding post, cant be biamped, unless you have something else in mind I'm just not picking up on. which is probably the case, beacuse you seem to be a friggin genius when it comes to doing stuff to electronics :)

Well, you could still do a form of monoblock right?

they cant be bridged, so my guess is no. I've heard that if you only hook one channel and one speaker to it, it devotes all the power to that channel, by proxy making it a monoblock, but I'm not sure of the accuracy on that.

Does it matter to use right, left, or center channel?

th sonic impact only has 2 channels, i cant imagine either one making a difference. you might be talking about the teac, which is a completly different ballgame

Best thing to use is one of those small lead acid batteries then just recharge it now and then. I've had a few evenings of astonishment while listening to mine on the SDA-SRS. It has all the sound quality (maybe more) than some high quality amps, just at a much lower power.

I have a couple sealed lead acid 12v 9amp batteries that I use in my R/C plane flight boxes. Is that the style of battery that your are referring to? They are very similar to some motorcycle batteries.

That would work fine but is much bigger. The SLA batteries I was talking about are about 1/4th the size. Used in home alarm systems and such.

If you used two SI's as monoblocks and must have common ground it would be a good idea to use either both L's or both R's. The grounds end up referenced together because the L and R input grounds are the same and are hooked to both.
