Gday to all,
I'm quite new to these forums and have been glossing over the posts over the past few weeks trying to gain as much overall knowledge about SDA and SRS and the 1.2 TL model in particular.
Im just wondering if ppl could advise on what I should look for (common issues with components and age etc) when I go to check these babies out.
The seller has indicated that these indeed have the SL3000 trilaminate dome tweeters is this enough to indicate that they are 1.2TL's and not 1.2s.
Oh nearly forgot I'm looking at putting these into a room of size (8metres by 3.8metres)... and having a haffler 500watt 8ohm amp, with phase linear parametric equaliser supply it.
Just wondering what a good price would be for these as seller has mentioned they have been put in storage for nearly 5 years??
cheers

Welcome to the forum.
If you want to make sure they are TL's, pull out the crossover, it should have BE2000-C printed on it. Make sure the seller has the interconnect cable that runs between each speaker. Do not use non-common ground, mono block or dual mono amps unless you use the AI-1 interconnect or you can figure out a way to strap the negative outputs together safely.
On a side note, throw the equalizer away, you don't need it. Real hi-fi doesn't need tone controls.Political Correctness'.........defined

1.2 TL's seem to bring anywhere from $1800.-$2600. depending on condition.

Thanks for the replies I'm looking at setting these up for 2-channel audio what power amps can these speakers handle comfortably? I havent been able to find a detailed specification for these babies either so if anyone can point me in the right direction for more research in regards to these speakers it would be greatly appreciated...
Im hoping to go and have a listen to these in 2 weekends time... so any advice with regards to that id be greatly appreciative... will be taking my haffler amp down to test them with
thanks again -
The speakers can handle any and as much power as you could ever throw at them. I would set a minimum of 50W Tube, 200W SS amps. There is no genuine justice in any scheme of feeding and coddling the loafer whose only ponderable energies are devoted wholly to reproduction. Nine-tenths of the rights he bellows for are really privileges and he does nothing to deserve them. We not only acquired a vast population of morons, we have inculcated all morons, old or young, with the doctrine that the decent and industrious people of the country are bound to support them for all time.-Menkin
