I was reviewing the november issue of car audio and electronics and they have a test report of the new zapco components. This component set recieved high marks by them. They said this component set ranks in the top five of all the test they have done on components. These components retail for 1,159.00 but they said they are a deal at this price. They sound that good. The test scores were overall good. Total points that could be recieved were 100. This component set recieved a total overall score of 80.

Hmm. Interesting. From what I've gathered, Zapco is awesome. For those that actually know, how do they compare to the likes of USAmps, Helix, Brax, etc.? just curious...George Grand wrote: »

Zapco is among the best amps on the planet.
Im not suprised their speakers are that good, theyve earned a reputation for producing unreal quality gear. No need to stop now.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

Then again, CA&E has given great reviews for Audiobahn amps...Never kick a fresh **** on a hot day.
Home Setup: Sony VPL-VW85 Projo, 92" Stewart Firehawk, Pioneer Elite SC-65, PS3, RTi12 fronts, CSi5, FXi6 rears, RTi6 surround backs, RTi4 height, MFW-15 Subwoofer.
Car Setup: OEM Radio, RF 360.2v2, Polk SR6500 quad amped off 4 Xtant 1.1 100w mono amps, Xtant 6.1 to run an eD 13av.2, all Stinger wiring and Raammat deadener. -
I'll join the Audiobahn bashing party with anybody, BUT...it is possible that out of the thousand SKU's they have that one or two...or maybe even THREE, products actually perform well.
BTW, I think CA&E is reviewing the SR6500's next issue. -
Yeah, and a score of 80 out of 100 sound like a great score. Just imagine if a speaker that sold for like $750 got a score like that.
Those Zapco's do look nice... -
ooh, i may have to pick up the next issue... wouldn't it be great if you outperformed the zapcos? It's not good, very fundamentally simply not good. - geolemon

Hell yeah!!! Im glad to see the SR's being tested. The MMC6500's never got reviewed anywhere and I always thought that was a mistake (the MMC650's were in Performance Auto and Sound). A lot of people, me included, put a lot of stock in magazine reviews and I usually base my short list of products Im going to buy off of magazine reviews.
Ive never seen a product trashed in CA&E but theyre trying to be diplomatic about it. They still point out negative things about everything they test and theyve put out less than stellar reviews for Alphasonik, MB Quart and MTX to name a few. I think CA&E gives an accurate and fair shake to the products they test. Plus, you have to realize that there really arent any products out there that really suck. There are a lot that arent that great but theyre at least average performers.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

Sorry, I can't buy speakers called "Zapco". Might as well be Sparkomatic for all I care.

So are you saying the brax, audison, mcintosh are better than the USAmps/Genesis/Helix/Zapco?
And are you saying that Genesis/Helix/Zapco are made by the same folks?
Can't wait to read the review of the SR6500s!! I sure hope they blow 'em outta tha water!!George Grand wrote: »

the list is from worst to best, so brax is the best, usamps is the worst.
the ones seperate by slashes are about the same in terms of quality, not as good as audison, but better than usamps.
