Did he make the sale....obviously he's just trying to sell you the speakers. If he were talking to me that would be it, I wouldn't work with him anymore. I don't like sales tactics like that. Tell me why he thinks they are the best and then tell what he likes about the Tannoy's vs. many other speakers, then and only then will I take him seriously. Then i'd go judge for myself.
"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. Differentiation by numbers is for those who do not".--Nelson Pass Pass Labs XA25 | EE Avant Pre | EE Mini Max Supreme DAC | MIT Shotgun S1 | Pangea AC14SE MKII | Legend L600 | BlueSound Node 3 - Tubes add soul!

Tannoy's are the best? Damn. That is what the Bose salesman told me.

Tannoy's, are good, but so are Totems, Sonus Faber, B&W, Kef, Gallo, etc.
The term "best" has many meanings. What are you looking for in a speaker?
