    Go ahead and order the pre for the synergy. It's cheap insurance at $549. After all, you want it to deliver whatever it is that McAlister believes it can deliver.

    No worries about common ground, it is.

    I'll quit this place if I steered you wrong mm. This amp is the real deal. Every time I wish it looked nicer, I play something and forget all about how it looks.

    If I ever get sufficiently motivated, I'll trek on down to the race car chassis shop where I used to work and make a primo aluminum or steel chassis for it. Trouble is finding that motivation.....

    Wait til you get that tube pre in front. I can't ever seeing myself going back to a SS pre, EVER!!!

    I'm not holding you to anything SCompRacer. :)

    If it has the right sound I'm guessing I'll pimp it out. Maybe a 1/2" red anadized (sp) aluminum front with baby blue powdered case, gold knobs and some burlwood sides. Who knows. I'll probably be totally happy with the industrial look though. I've had a lot of really cool looking components and would give it all away for a small audio improvement. As long as it glows orange and sounds better than what I have I'll be very happy. And now that it's getting cooler I'm looking forward to the extra heat. I powered up the Jolida when I got home because it was a little chilly in the living room. It should be a warm comfy Christmas this year :)

    Guys I can't begin to describe how much improved the sound is.

    I no longer have bass issues with my LSi 15's.

    I've got Dire Straits playing full load and the bass is clean and tight with an incredible punch it didn't have with the Carver.

    I can't wait for the tube preamp.
