Red Dwarf???

Anyone remember that show?? I tought it was great. Pretty sure it was a BBC show. I used to get it on PBS, but it's been a long time since I've seen it anywhere.

yeah it was a bbc show, it used to be on bbc2, (im welsh and used to live in the uk for many years,) it was really excellent all the good comedies were on bbc2

Yeah I miss that show. It was so bizarre and the sets were cheesy, but the writing was excellent, imo. What was the one with the group of guys that all lived together and one was a punk rocker and one was a big long-haired goof?

It was like "The something's", I just can't recall the title

No, didn't catch that one. Used to watch one called something like "Have you been served" about a group at a department store.

Ah...yes the Young Ones...I loved that show when it was on MTV. They actually only made about 12 episodes. My brother has the DVD set and I watched them not too long ago. I'm sad to say I just didn't find it quite as amusing as I originally did. Still fun, but not the blowing milk out your nose funny I thought it was at the time.

As far as Red Dwarf it's like all those British comedies they play on PBS (Faulty Towers, Are you Being Served, Red Light Green Light, etc.) they seem to go in a several year rotation. Red Dwarf used to be shown here on PBS until very recently. I'm sure if you have the know-how and don't mind the ethical arguement you could probably DL episodes off the internet. I do it when I miss an Episode of Alias. That way if I forget to tape it (No DVR for cable yet) I can still keep up to speed. I also started DL the new Dr. Who episodes because they run on very limited access stations around here, if at all. You know now you have broadband Noel, this is more possible than ever .

Awesome show...even today it rates right up there. It certainly was risque for that period of time. Lots of sexual innuendo and a **** man on TV.

I just saw Red Dwarf shown recently on the local PBS station in San Jose, California. In fact, the station had the cast members in its studio asking for pledges during the pledge breaks.

Red Dwarf is on DVD anyway.

Where can i find the DVDs? I'd most likely order them if they weren't outrageously priced.

I picked up the first season of Deadwood on dvd at Sam's for $58. That's about $25-30 less than any other place I looked. I'm obsessed with that c%^ksucking show. Can't wait for the 2nd season to come out on dvd.

Noel, this is always a good place to start. I know from pricing various other Brit-Coms that they are pretty pricey. They just don't have volume sales like a Seinfeld or Friends would have. I see they have some used ones as well.

I've seen the DVDs of RD at Best Buy and they aren't outrageously priced.

I know it has been on the local PBS in the greater Philly area at night recently (found it one time when I couldn't sleep). Don't remember if it was the NJ PBS (NJN) or the Philly PBS (WHYY).
