The Surround bar is quite nice for what it is. Exceptional actually. BUT, having a new 19" LCD and a great sound card in my new computer I want a surround bar I can attach to my monitor which will give me the same results. Obviously it has to be less than half the length of the surround bar and I will be sitting less than 24" away so it must be quite different. I'm willing to pay $500 plus sub for it. I was sold within 30 seconds of turning on the surround bar, can you do it for a PC???

My guess is it is on the drawing board as we speak.
    Dodd - Battery Preamp
Monarchy Audio SE100 Delux - mono power amps
    Sony DVP-NS999ES - SACD player
    ADS 1230 - Polk SDA 2B
DIY Stereo Subwoofer towers w/(4) 12 drivers each
    Crown K1 - Subwoofer amp
    Outlaw ICBM - crossover
    Beringher BFD - sub eq

Where is the remote? Where is the $%#$% remote!

Maz builds his own speakers and does a great job. He was talking building one with a couple of mods that he thought would improve the speaker. Hell, get with him and see what he thinks about it. What's there to lose, right?

The problem with this is that there is only so small that the SDA technology can be microsized, basically you need to be at least 2.5x the distance between the average sized person's ears for it to work. So you are looking at about at least 20" needed just to fit the stereo pair of the SDA surrounds (all 4 drivers). Then you need to find the room to place the center, left, and right channels as well, which will add more space and due to the center, force more distance between the SDA sources. You are realistically looking at needing around 25-28 inches just to fit the drivers in the speaker, and really probably a little more to get the needed seperation between the channels.

I am sorry, but I personally just don't see how something like this could be made much smaller then that.

    Mathew Polk is a genius..!
And the other folks at Polk are right there with him...

He could do it if he wanted to... :D

...and Matt said " let there be SDA`s "...

and there were SDa`s of all sizes...large and small....
and the people smiled, for they were very happy.... :)

The Audio Gospel according to the beardog.....

    I would buy one..

The little Altec`s that I have hooked up to the puter are little 1" drivers..
If Altec can make small drivers sound good, then Polk can make `em even better....

    Hmmmm, that would rule!!

Would it work with my dual monitor setup?
    A 24" LCD next to a 23" LCD? :D

I watch all my movies on my putie. No surround tho because of room setup.
    Would really be nice!

ROFL. Yes, they are Klipscheseses. I'm so ashamed. :o
They are RB 5-II's. I've had them for quite some time now. Powered by a 15 yr old Pioneer stack (100 wpc). I would really like some LSi 9's there but would need to upgrade the stack stereo. Haven't found anything small but powerful to replace it with.

You can stretch images over both screens but it makes anything but gaming difficult. I tend to watch movies and tv on the 24" and surf on the 23" simultaneously.
