Vintage speakers as mains for HT

Hi,
My very first pair of speakers were a set of Monitor 5's (or maybe 7's, it was almost 30 years ago!). I've owned many speakers since, but I feel they were the best sounding speakers I ever owned. In that vein of feeling nostalgic I plan on buying a pair off of Ebay. Since I'd also like to move into the home theater realm, I was wondering if Polk Audio has any recommendations for timber matching their current line of center speakers with these vintage speakers?

Thanks.

Check with the tech folks at polk. They are a lot of help and you can do what you want to do at least with some of the older polks. Keep in mind that you will probably want to match at least driver sizes and type of construction. Welcome to the forum.
    Good Luck, Phil

I went this route at one time, has a pair of RTA 12's with the peerless tweet. find out what tweeter you have, then find a pair of the smaller bookshelfs with that tweeter Mon5's etc (thats what I used) works fine. I think the older CS400 will be fine too, not a timbre mnatch, but it will work nonetheless
