I am going to use a pair of these as my surrounds on the back side wall of my master bedroom but would like to know what floorstanding speakers will match these. Also what center channel can I use for this setup for matching purposes? Also when I install these in the wall I was going to just screw them right onto some 2x4's and then break up the wall cavity by using a 2x4 to seperate 1/2 of it for the speaker then I was going to seal it up. Sorry for the long sentence lol, but do you think that would be the best way to install these?

Thanks in advance,

Tom R

I believe the CSi40,CSi30, will match your speakers as a center. I think the CSi3 and 5 will work also..if thats so then you can purchase any tower from the RTi line to match.

The install doesnt sound too bad. I would definately caulk nicely inside and possibly stick some a thin sheet of fiberglass stuffing attatched to the back of the wall directly behind the speake.

With the insulation do i need to use less than what normally goes into a wall? I was going to stuff up to the speaker with as much insulation that i can fit in without getting into the speaker from behind, will that do? Is that what you are refering to? Thanks Again!

Will this be an inside wall or outside wall? If it is an inside wall, you may not have to deal with insulation at all. It might even be better to put foam behind the speaker instead of fiberglass, but I could be wrong.

Yeah its inside the wall, when I listend to them at Fry's they have a small sealed box they are in . So instead of using the whole 8 feet high roughly 14 wide opening I will install one 2x4 to seperate that cavity in half then seal it. Then the question of what to fill the wall with ....insulation or foam as you said?

You dont want to overcrowd the interior space of your inwall "enclosure" The sheet of fiberglass behind the speaker is only acting as a type of dampener. You want some backforce behind the speaker to get the woofer to move further to gain a little extra excursion without distorting the speaker. Im basing this on not knowing what exactly is behind your sheetrock. Think of the fiberglass as the same type that is used in subwoofer enclosures..just not as much as the inwalls as they are a "free-air" type of speaker.
