Just noticing the new tag line 'Listen to Innovation'.

Reserving judgement for now.

I guess the old motto/tag doesn't work anymore because now they produce speakers, amps, XM receivers, BBQ grills... ;)

Seems like "innovation" should have an uppercase "i".

I saw that as well but wasn't sure if it was there since the changes took place about 1 month ago.

Ya, noticed that today as well.. Not sure, not sure... Unless the jaggy look is what they were going for, I think they need a higher-quality tag for the top image. Doesn't look that nice. Also, the "I" in innovation would probably be better capitalized.

Hmm. I gues I'm just an old **** (and at only 17! ). I much much prefer "The Speaker Specialists." And not only do I prefer that, I don't even like "listen to innovation". Oh well.

    "i" like it!

"The Speaker Specialists" reminds me of when Matt would wear those god-awful labcoats in Polk ads. Remember those days? Polk Audio finally scrapped that cheezwhiz, now it looks like they're cutting ties to the ridiculous slogan that went along with it.

    I'm all for it!

there branching into new markets, not unusual for a company who wants to grow/continue to grow. If there branching into other markets now, and more so in the future, a tag line change was inevitable.

I like it! Much more descriptive of the directionality of the company. I see they trade marked it, so they may have also tm'd it with an uppercase "I" to prevent hijacking. It would be a personal choice on the "I" vs."i". Some graphics people in my marketing team would argue that the lower case "i" leads the viewer downhill, and promotes retention by the viewer. That's why I stay in the product mgt. end of things ;)

Exactly, just another phase in the evolution process...when I saw the new tag, I immediately thought of the new addressable ip speakers

Or they could make the "L" lower-case since "polkaudio" and everything else is lower-case.

    I love speculating/critiquing about someone else's decision.

With that said, I like the L capitalized. To me, Polk is still trying to provide ways for us, as consumer, to "Listen" to the music and movies we enjoy so much.

I think its a great tag line and a cool play on words.

Their Momo car amplifier line is as good as anything on the market right now and their XM tuner is the top dawg out there as well. Polk is branching out and evolving from just making speakers so there is no reason their motto shouldnt evolve as well.

    Thumbs up from me!

    I agree w/Anthony......

Look, I was filled with trepidation but after the Polk visit, I am more convinced than ever that anything Polk puts it's name on will NOT be half assed.

If they remain STRICTLY 'The Speaker Specialists' you could count the days until they go under.

Thanks for your comments on our new tagline. I joined Polk Audio about six months ago as Senior VP of Marketing, and one of my assignments was to come up with a tagline that would be a better fit with the future direction of Polk. So, if you do not like "Listen to Innovation" you can blame me. In any case, I appreciate what you all had to say. Thanks, again.

I like it. Simple, straight forward and has a "High End" sound to it. This will go very nice with the logo change from a few years back.

The old logo, although much loved, sort of had a cartoonish look about it. Don't get me wrong, it was total classic, but the new one works better for todays consumer market.

My opinion of course and if ya don't like... ;)

Bose does a ton of research, and they have an army of extremely intelligent engineers. Go onto monster.com and see all of their job postings... you need AT LEAST a master's and PhDs are usually preffered. Unfortunately, they use that research to milk every little bit out of an extremely cheap POS.
