Hello polk people,
I am newbie, typed in new post but I guess I was not logged in .Bottom line I understand this is a forum of polk enthusiasts. I am looking for some honest comparisons between the bose 901's and the monitor 10b's 88' , I was looking at getting some 901's but Have an opportunity to purchase some 10b's from original owner,140.00 for the pair. I would appreciate your candor, not concerned about money spent on speakers, yet do appreciate a good buy.
Thanks,
Doug

    Hello dougd,

Welcome to the forum. This is the testing area where folks try things before posting in the other forums.

If you drop down to the Vintage Speaker forum and post this question, you stand a better chance of getting an answer. I don't have any experience with the 901's so I am unable to assist you.

The 901's have their appeal for sure. I have them. I think the 10b's would be the more audiophile choice but a lot of people really enjoy the 901's for their open live sound. Like everything, it all depends on your expectations and the room they are in. If you really want some 901's, Ver 5 let me know. I'll give you a reasonable price. They are really cool for what they are.

    Madmax,
Thanks for the offer on the 901's, but I purchased the 10b's and after spending several hours on the polk forums I was convinced that polk is the way to go. As luck would have it I found a pair of sda1's for sale here in vegas where I live.of course I had to have them so they have now replaced my old 10b's which I had grown tired of after having them hooked up for 4 days.I do have a couple questions about my most recent steal. I will post to the appropriate forum.
    Thanks,
    Doug

Congrats! The SDA's are the way to go for sure. The 10b's are a quality speaker but a little boring if you ask me.
