With much anxiety and a little (or maybe more) liquid courage, the newbie decides to run the formitable gauntlet of posting an item for sale on the Polk Fleamarket. Must not fall prey to the experiences of other ill-fated, lowly item posters who are vilified for either asking retail or simply using this site to advertise items for sale at other sites. These posters are quickly reduced to cyberscum and disposed of. Take a deep breath, must move forward. First step..

** Selling Two SL-2000 tweeters based on a switch to the new replacement tweeter models following repeated recommendations for my CRS+ speakers.**

That was easy, next step..

What to charge?? Previous posts suggest $25-30 ea. No, that would be to high, especially for someone without Polk-God status and 128,894 posts signifying their obvious credibility. Who wants these anyway?? Maybe I should pay the interested party to take them away, and include delivery and a case of Heineken. No, thats too generous. Must think of a price that seems "good" and allows the Polk community to reap the benefits. Mustn't be greedy, mustn't be greedy, or the rath of the hovering Polk-a-phile vultures will surely swoop in for the kill.

Ok, how about $40 for the pair, shipping included. Seems reasonable. They sounded great when first listened to, but everyone said to swap to the new ones! Hell, the speakers were such a bargain, why not?

What has been overlooked? Who will be offended?? The swarming hoard will descend in moments as soon as the thread is displayed.

Ah hell, damn the torpedoes and full speed ahead. Hit the button and see if anyone could care less about a nice pair of Sl-2000 tweeters that could use a new home. No turning back now, wasted far too much time and space for this dribble.

Be gentle on me.

$40 is cheap man. Those will go pretty quick. The humour helps too.

I think we should sticky this as a way for a newbie to sell something.

    Be gentle on me.

NOBODY one expect the Polk Inquisition!!
We have one chief unwritten rule in this forum!
No sales on the first post and no links to your ebay listing...
Our two unwritten rules are No links to your ebay listing and no posts to the flea market as your first post and don't call us elitist...
(we aren't elitest. We're hostile, now bugger off!).
Our three unwritten rules are No links to your ebay listing and no posts to the flea market as your first post, don't call us elitist...
and an almost fanatical devotion to SDA's...
    Our four...
    No...

Good luck with your sale. Apologies for the butchering of a perfectly fine skit. It's been in my head the past day and it's almost as bad as Abba lyrics running through your mind...

    regards

Thanks for the acknowledgement of my attempt at humor in the market place. No offense intended here. Just trying to make a few smiles while trying to sell the tweeters. Did I mention the fourteen other items I'm selling on.....
