Signal interference?

I brought a small TV to have next to my computer today, and after about an hour, the remote stopped working. I know this remote works fine because my roomate had this TV and remote for quite a while and both worked fine. Also about the same time, my receiver remote started working differently... Could my computer be interfering with the remote signals? the receiver is right next to the computer, and the TV is next to my monitor, about 5 feet from the comp and 3 feet from the receiver.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Ps. I changed the batteries in both remotes, with no change.

Shouldn't be any interference to the transmission signal if it is infrared but even so, the receiver of an infrared could be affected. If it is an RF remote then it could be affected for sure.

RF means...?
Any solutions, or should I just find a new place for the TV? -

Does your remote work if the computer is turned off?Setup:
Adcom GFA-545 amp
Nad 1600 pre
Dual 704 TT
Pioneer 707 R2R
Pioneer DV-578A Multi-format
Polk SDA-2 Mains -
I would think it is more likely that there is external IR interference occuring then the computer creating it. While it is not impossible that the computer could generate IR interference, it is that this would be the first time I have heard of it. EM interference, yes, RF interference, yes, IR? Never seen that before. But there is always room for the first time.
Also simply turning the computer "off" may not cause the problem to go away. Physically remove the power cord, this will cause the power-supply to truely turn off, instead of going to a stand-by mode waiting for the wake-up signal from the motherboard->power switch.
IR interference should be easy to block if you know where it is comming from as it suffers almost the same exact problems that visible light does with respect to object opacness (sorry for spelling). Most solid objects will keep IR from passing thru it (although it may reflect it in another direction). Just something to think about. -
I tried turning the computer off, but no luck. I'll just have to move the TV somewhere else.

Did the resetting the remote work for you? I showed you how to do it, right?

Yeah, turns out I'm retarded and the remote had gotten reset somehow. And no, I haven't gotten it to work yet, and yes, I know how to do it.
