Columbia House

I have been a member of Columbia House CD club for years. I just realized last week that I hadn't gotten a mailer from them in about a month and a half. Yesterday I got a mailer from BMG music welcoming me as a former Columbia House member and transferring my bonus points to BMG bonus points. Has something changed and these 2 companies merged and I missed it or is something fishy going on. They even had my Columbia house membership number. Has this happened to anyone else?

I had no idea Columbia House was getting out of the music business. Their prices and S&H were high unless you took advantage of the buy 1 get 2 or 3 free offers but many of my CD's came from them over the years. I used to be a member of BMG but dropped them due to poor selection. I hope they have better choices now. This news is a shock to me. I guess I should have read the inserts in the mailers.

yourmusic.com; no BMG offer matches this ($5.99 each CD, no shipping); I think they are owned by the same company.
There are a few threads about this._________________________________________________

Selection is severely limited with these things. There's very little I would ever buy from any of these music clubs.

Probably a stock holder.

Those clubs bank on you putting aside the selection of the month that they send you, and then forgetting to return it in time. You end up getting banged $18.98 or some ridiculous price PLUS SHIPPING, for something that cost them a dime to manufacture, and another dime to ship.
