I picked up an 850 here, from one of the members, smooth ,I'm pleased. But my quest for tubes continues, as I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of an AI unit(pre). I have not been disappointed in parasound products at all. :)

George - glad to hear you liked the 850! It is one smooth & sweet sounding pre, especially for SS equipment. I am waiting impatiently for the new Parasound New Classic 2000 pre-amp to be released. I recently tried a Conrad Johnson PV14LS pre, however it sounded really bad with my Parasound HCA-1500 power amps. My tech. guy identified it as a capacitence conflict between the CJ pre and the Parasound amps, and that CJ tube pre's are not a good match for the Parasound amps.
