Just rented and watched. It might not be very stimulating for a HT, but I thought it was funny as hell. Never saw the original so I can't compare, I may still be a youngin at 27. :p

I saw the original... after I saw the remake...

The original is by far one of the worst movies... I have ever seen in my life. It just... was not funny. It was not executed well. It just...sucked.

The remake was great, I laughed the entire time... its stupid, adam sandler humor with plenty of homages to the original - just done and executed better...

    Great comedy, IMO.

The original is a CLASSIC. Admittedly a little dated, but what Sandler did to it was a disGRACE. ANd I usually love Sandler movies. Hell, I even love remakes if they're touching up a dated movie - I had high hopes for this, but... man. Just so GOOFY in the wrong ways.

And Sid, there are some folks out there taht would hang you for saying the original is one of the worst movies ever. Seriously, sacrilege. :D
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

The original was one of the worst movies I've ever seen...

It was just BAD. It wasn't funny... it wasn't even directed good - atleast Sandler put "the old guys" football score to good use and at the right time - where as the original does it...then....then what? Exactly...

I'm sorry... but... the movie was just bad... :(;)

    The remake was pathetic!!!

I'm not buying Sandler as any kind of athlete let alone a former pro!

The original is definitely a classic and wasn't necessarily meant to be a side splitting comedy.

Roy is right...the original had a dramatic side to it that made the movie 'whole' so to speak. The remake was a comedy....it was OK.

I'm watching this right now. How can you not love the movie if not for just the first 10 minutes with Courtney Cox Arquette?

Havent seen the new one but at the time of the old one Burt Reynolds was in his prime with movies like smokey and the bandit......just a good ole' boy type movie.
