Europe has a serious program of responsiblity when it comes to military vs livestock. When in the MIL, I ran over a pig, insert comments here, and it was pricey. I got a bunch of **** about it as well, and hey, I'm not a Pig killer, it was an accident. Fortunately those invisible pig babies will live forever.

While in service (heavy artillery) we killed a few reindeers when they came to our practice area, there was no way of stopping the artillery fire if they showed up on the field at last minute. We cut the ears to find out the owner (standard practice whenever a reindeer is killed) and government paid compensation for those reindeers. No big deal.
