Speaker wire spades too small..

the spades that came with the Audioquest Type 4 wires are too small...the inner diameter is smaller than the posts in the SDA 1B's; I could enlarge this diameter, but then the contact area would be too small....was thinking in changing them by bananas.
Any thoughts on why one or the other would be better? Any other idea?
Thanks!!

Are you sure they are too small? Remove (one at a time) the binding post nut COMPLETELY from the speaker, slide the spade over the post, replace nut and tighten.

Thanks Russ.....that's the first thing I did
Too small..guessing 1/16th of an inch; If I can find a metal nut that fits there, will reduce the diameter; if not, will go with bananas. Plastic nuts don't go too well with spades IMO.. _________________________________________________

You might consider sending them to Audio Advisor for re-termination to 5/8" spades...Source: Bluesound Node 2i - Preamp/DAC: Benchmark DAC2 DX - Amp: Parasound Halo A21 - Speakers: MartinLogan Motion 60XTi - Shop Rig: Yamaha A-S501 Integrated - Source: Rotel CD14MkII CD Player - Speakers: Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2

Try some banana adapters before you go chopping up cable.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.
