i watched the 25th anniversary release last night..a lot of cut scenes included makes the film 2.5 hrs...it's cool to watch w the new scenes, because we've all seen this flick a thousand times. to introduce anything new is very welcome! of course, the soundtrack is great! the best sda effect was when they're sludging thru this tunnel. you can hear water dripping WAY past the speakers anyway, even if you've seen the movie too much already, i recommend you see it again in this release.

nothing of real significance....just maybe extended scenes that already exist...the best was an extended jam with john lee hooker, than what was shown  found out from the credits that he was jamming with: pinetop perkins & johnny guitar watson. all 3 are dead now...and yes! that was joe walsh in the prison scene! imagine joe walsh & belushi partying!

The first DVD release of this film included the complete cut of the film, never seen before. It includes extended music sequences, which are amazing, and a couple little bits like seeing Elwood stealing the glue ("Strong stuff"). The new 2-disc DVD release includes both this "director's extended cut" and the shorter theatrical version. I have the original disc release (no reason to re-buy this), and the 5.1 sound is fantastic.

Just last week I picked up a mint, still in the plastic, LP of the Blue Brothers soundtrack album. Found it at GW for 1.01. May frame it.>
