"Sledge Hammer" on DVD

I purchased the DVDs of the first season several months ago and only opened it last night. My ears are still ringing from the sound of gunshots

Great parody of all the "Dirty Harry" movies and cop shows in general. The laugh tracks were removed for the DVD. The picture quality is pretty good. There's a 30 minute interview with creator of the show, Alan Spencer, and the stars of the show. And that theme music by Danny Elfman....is that on CD somewhere?

In an ironic twist, I opened the DVD on the day that Don Adams (of Get Smart fame) passed away. "Sledge Hammer" was inspired by "Get Smart" and even paying tribute to that show by placing numbers "86" and "99" on adjanct hotel doors in one scene. As the DVD mentioned, "Sledge Hammer" also premiered in '86 (while Peter Gabriel's "Sledgehammer" was riding high on the charts too).

Anyone else got this?

Edit: Here's a professional review of the DVD.

That's one I might pick up. Sledge was great. I can't believe they cut it short (was it only 2 seasons?). Somewhere I have an autographed picture of him (my cousin used to do some work with him).

I loved that show at the time, it would be cool to see it again now.

Yes, there was only 2 seasons of "Sledge Hammer". It was up against "Cosby" in its 2nd season and guess who won in the ratings :(

Btw, first season of "Sledge" ended with the detonation of a nuclear warhead right after he said "Trust me, I know what I am doing" :D

    Sorry for the spoiler.

Edit: I found this episode guide to be very entertaining and informative.

Yes, I remember the end of the first season (that's why I thought it was only 2 seasons). It ends with the captian yelling "SLEEEEEEEEEDDDDDDDGGGGGGGGEEEEE!"
