Satellite speaker stands and height/placement

Hello- pretty much new here. I recently purchased the RM 6700 speakers-I need some advice on the best placement of the 2 surround speakers-Polk and others recommend putting them about 2 feet above sitting listeners position--on side walls facing each other. That would mean placing them about 5 feet high.
The problem is that I do not have side walls convenient to hang them. I do not know of any speaker stands that high.
Is it ok to hang them on the rear wall (it would be about 1-2 feet behind the listener) facing forward? Or should I buy satellite speaker stands (Sanus or Omni) that are about 38" high and then place them so the speakers face each other? Thanx for any advice
Jerry

    Welcome to Club Polk!

I would probably do the stands and face them toward each other in most cases. But since I can't see or hear your room I would suggest trying it both ways and see what sounds best to you.
