when you hear that... you know its time to buy a new set of speakers :S

so... thats my speakers gone, need to get somethin new and improved, just tomake myself feel better. this time i think i want some surround sound action, but ofcourse, as usual the gf doesnt :(

any ways to get around this? (without ditching the chick) i searched google for small surround sound and what came back frankly meant nothing to me.

any help would be much appreciated :):)

What speakers did you have? What equipment do you have? What's your price range?

mmm they were just cheap ones, cant remember what they were, they got chucked :P iirc they were yamaha, buit if i was the company i wouldnt admit to it.

im kinda keen to totally upgrade, get a totally new system wit it all included i think.

price, under £1000, is that realistic?

Well, lets see... at the current conversion rate that would be around $1,780. Yeah, I think that's doable :). You want to go the Home Theater route, correct? You alluded to that in your first post, but weren't very convincing :).

    Welcome to the forum, BTW.

yeah home theatre would be the best way id think, keeps it nicce and simple i hope

£1000 ($1780) is the max, so if its doable well for less that would be idle :) went hunting around and found this , do we know anythin about this? looks nice and small, dont know about value for money/quality tho

Did you see the "poor sound" and "very disappointed" reviews? Sometimes it can't all be about looks! If only Polk's new SoundBar was out... you sound like that might fit your needs, but alas, it's still in development. You're not going to find many suggestions for SMALL home theater in a box-type setups. While not everyone here likes big speakers, we all like good sound, and you're not going to get great sound out of one of those.

I was thinking something along the lines of some Polk bookshelf speakers all around, and a nice receiver to drive them. But I'm sure if you stick around a little, some other people might have some better suggestions. I'm not into home theater myself....

I think the surround bar comes out next month. Sounds perfect for you. Check it out!
