While I would like to get the Monarchy Audio passive preamp, I think I will need more inputs. Think the pre-amp section of a Cambridge Audio integrated amp would be OK?

If you're running the soundcard into the passive preamp..well...is this even necessary? Or is this just a convenient way for you to adjust the volume without having to mess with the computer?

Also, the pre doesn't have to be plugged in, correct?

Last question!

The input voltage on the RCA...is that the same output voltage of the pre if the volume knob is at full power? Or does it scale down the voltage to a more regulated number? I am very dumb when it comes to this stuff.

I, too, has one more question....I have seen photos of the TEAC and I noticed the amount of vents on the top. One of the advantages I've heard about these Tripath amps is that they run pretty cool. Does the TEAC heat up?
