How many Photoshop users we have out there? Any hardcore Photoshoppers?

I just picked up a somewhat newly released book called "Photoshop LAB Color" by Dan Margulis. It's a bit pricey at $55.00, but the first chapter alone is worth the price. You'll never go back to editing in RGB or CMYK again.

I'm using Photoshop CS2, but it's perfect for previous versions as well.

Here is a shot on the beach from this past weekend. Caught him struttin along the beach, then noticed the reflection he cast and started snappin away with my Nikon D70 using the 70-200mm f 2.8 VR lens. Sorry, can't post the girly photos I took. :D

I think I need to ditch the Canon 35mm and go for the digital. I would prefer the Canan Rebel so that I could continue to use my lenses. Very vivid shot.

Canon makes some awesome cameras. I happened to have loved the Nikon D70 as soon as I held it. I didn't like the feel of the original Digital Rebel though.

The Nikon VS Canon chatter is as old and worn out as the Ford VS Chevy chatter. If you have an investment in Canon lens, go for the Canon Digital. The Rebel XT is very nice, but the 20D is SWEET but also has a nice price tag! Me, I'm holding out for down the road to get whatever version of the current Nikon D2X 12.1mp monster is out. Thats a bad ****!

    Happy snappin guys!

John, that's a nice shot!! I've been looking into digitals as well, something to use the Canon lens I currently have. Right now I have the Canon EOS Rebel 2000 35mm SLR but need to learn how to take some more profesional looking pictures with it, I know it has the potential.

The Canon Digital Rebel XT SLR is nice but there are alot of people do not like the plastic body that is used. The Canon EOS 20D is the next step up and has some great reviews but a hefty price tag (for me anyway :( ).

    Regards,
    Scott

EDIT: Oh yeah, I do use PS for some minor editing but that's it.

I use PS CS1. I've used v5 and v5.5 prior to this. Its all I've ever used. What is this LAB color? Never heard anything about it.
For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...

Nice shot. I'm looking into the SLR digital thing as well. I bought a 3.3m Kodak awhile back (before any of the SLRs were affordable), but it just didn't take good enough pictures to play with. I currentlly use Corel and PaintShop Pro. Corel blows PaintShop away. I mainly use it to make pictures for fun (CD covers for home made disks are my favorite. I enjoy making the cover more than listening to the CD).

Nice photo, John. Caught a little visitor in my backyard the other day and cleaned up the shot with Photoshop Elements 2.0, which came with my 20D.

Cool shot APC. Nice camera too!

Billbillw, LAB is a color space format (RGB and CMYK are the other 2). On the PS menu bar, go to IMAGE then MODE. Under MODE you'll see the option to choose your type of color space.

LAB opens a whole new world and allows you to do it in less time. Here is the Amazon link for the book -

    http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0321356780/qid=1127418050/sr=8-1/ref=pd_bbs_1/002-1139557-6848017?v=glance&s=books&n=507846

By the way, it's the top selling Computer related book right now on amazon.

    Happy editing!
