Oh. By digital are you talking about Polk's IP addressable speakers? Does another company have speakers like this out already?

I haven't owned "recent" Polk speakers, but have owned 3 different sets of past Polk's. I have also owned Pinnacle Classic Gold Towers (2001'ish) and liked them very much. Polk's and Pinnacles have more in common than not. The sound is very similar as best as I can remember my older Polk's. The recent pair of Pinnacle CGT's I had did have incredibly deep and clean bass, some of the best I've heard out of any speaker. I think it's attributred to Pinnacles patented triple bass port system.

Build wise, again very close to one another. Take a listen and decide for yourself.

Interesting. I had never heard of Pinnacle before, but given such a good mini-review by you, I'll hafta keep them in mind in the future.

Would you say the bass was even better than in your C9s?

Deeper reaching, yes. I think the CGT's (aren't offered anymore unfortunately) were rated at 25Hz @ -3db. Pinnacles "Diaduct" bass porting system was very effective. In 1997, Julian Hirsch of then "Stereo Review" magazine was extremely impressed with the CGT's and noted that they measured the lowest amount of bass distortion he had ever seen.

Pinnacle is a family owned business in upstate New York; they had very good customer service, but I'm not too impressed with their latest offerings. Pinnacle used to be a strictly 2-channel speaker builder, but like many others, they're caught up in the HT thing and the speaker designs are suffering.
