Here's beardog's original post, and hopefully a poll at the top if I can figure it out.

Since I can`t seem to figure out how to do a poll thingy, I`ll just throw it out there...

I can`t do both, so what would you suggest..

If you have 2-3 hours a day that you can pretty much dedicate to listening, I would invest there. Unless you are spending more uninterrupted time at home listening daily.

The 1.2 don't come along often in good shape near you. The SR's can be had at any time, any place.

Think about it... You can always get the SR's in the future, but no garauntee on the 1.2's

Well, that's really a valid point, as I assume there will be some 'turn around' time he'll need before he embarks on another audio journey. Just how long, though, idk.

I was going to vote CA because of the travel time but jdhdiggs has an excellent point. You can make do with the car for now.

    Get the 1.2's.

It seems like most of the car audio people are voting for car audio and the home audio people are voting for home audio. imagine that. theres also a slight difference in the amount of people that post on the CA side than the HA side...just something you might think about when looking at the poll.

Id take the SRs(imagine that!?). If youre in your car for 780 hours a year(52 weeks x 5 days per work week x 3 hours per day) plus any additional time you spend in your car, plus you ALREADY have a nice home set up, I would expand my horizons a little and try to get equal(or as close as you can get) sound out of my car. If I were to spend that much time in a car without a high quality system it would drive me nuts. Its bad enough that its in a car enviroment with all kinds of noise anyway, but a stock system would drive me over the edge being in a car that long. I say get the SRs, you will NOT be disappointed

What I think what a few are forgetting about here is the rarity of coming across a nice set of 1.2s that are local. Noone is saying that he shouldn't get the SRs or that they aren't great. Like a couple of others and I have said, get the 1.2s now, while he can. The SRs will be readily available for years to come, while nice LOCAL 1.2s will not.

Get the SDAs and then in a couple of months get the SRs. Also, they'll likely start being put on sale, every once in a while, by then.
