Anybody done a comparison between these two speakers? Presently own the CRS+ and have the opportunity to purchase the 2A, would this be an improvement? Thanks a lot for any advise.

With the larger cabinet, you will get some deeper bass, all equal other than that. Go get them.Dodd - Battery Preamp
Monarchy Audio SE100 Delux - mono power amps
Sony DVP-NS999ES - SACD player
ADS 1230 - Polk SDA 2B
DIY Stereo Subwoofer towers w/(4) 12 drivers each
Crown K1 - Subwoofer amp
Outlaw ICBM - crossover
Beringher BFD - sub eq
Where is the remote? Where is the $%#$% remote!

True you will get some more bass, but as with the CRS+ the more high current you can pump into them the more they will come alive. Keep in mind that being vintage speakers there is a resale market for them and enough lunatics here ready to buy them should you decide to sell them.
If they are a good price, what have you got to lose? How much is the seller asking and we can chime in with our thoughts. -
equivalent to about US$170.00 but no interconnects.

Can you keep both or is it one or the other? What gear will you be using with them?Political Correctness'.........defined

Depends. Am quite happy with my CRS+ but if the 2A is better than the CRS, am thinking of using the 2A for my main rig and CRS for my son's bedroom. In short considering purchase if 2's are better. Presently using a Yamaha M-85 amp paired with the matching C-85 to drive the CRS. tks

Hmmm.....better is a relative term at best, so the only way for you to really know is to buy the 2A's. For $170.00 it's hard to go wrong. Have you considered modding the CRS+'s? I just finished a mod job on a pair and the results are quite pleasing, well worth the time and money.Political Correctness'.........defined

what are the mods you did ? The only mods I did was to replace all drivers and tweets of the CRS. I guess you are right on the 2's will give the seller a call . Can't seem to find the thread on the DIY interconnects . Will have to make one for the 2's. tks

I replaced the tweeters, caps, resistors, silver mica's, binding posts and added lead shot to the stands as well as replaced the spikes.Political Correctness'.........defined

Jesse, Didn't Mark have the CRS's (you refinished the cabs) and a pair of 2As at the same time? I belive Mark owning the 2As is what led me to the 8 month long journey where I ultimately bought Mark's 1Cs. I believe he was more impressed with the CRS's than the 2As."Just because youre offended doesnt mean youre right." - Ricky Gervais

Yes, he did and he sold the 2A's.
Egp, in that case I recommend you get the Mye Sound spikes with the floor discs.
http://www.myesound.com/products.html Order 1/4-20 threads in the 3/4 inch dia. version. I also HIGHLY recommend you fill the stands with lead shot.Political Correctness'.........defined
