Can you make a sealed sub into a ported one? Partsexpress sells ports that are adjustable, just wondering if it would work. thanks

    Yes...

But I think* it would raise the -3db point to some rediculously high frequency like 80hz. Has to do with the woofer and how much volume it needs and how large the enclosure is and what size port....

    I wouldnt do it...

Would be easier to take the driver out and find out its specs and build a new enclosure for it I'd think...

Now you could take a new driver, measure the internal dimensions of the M&K box, get the volume and see what you can make. You could very well make a nice lil sub - but you would need to find a sub that worked well with that box. Would be easier in the end to build your own though, IMO.

A 1ft3 enclosure will be very difficult to tune low if you want to have any decent amount of port area at all.

Model the driver and see what you get.....
