i just took delivery of a brand new pair of dark red cherry Loreleis.man, are they beautiful.these loudspeakers are licenced to Odyssey audio by Symphonic Line in Germany and are the same speaker as the $7600.00 Symphonic Line Legato loudspeaker. they are a two way floorstanding design with a Scanspeak 9700 tweeter and a Scanspeak 8545 midwoofer. the crossover for the tweeter is 3rd order and the low pass is 4th order. the crossovers are massive with several large Mundorf coils with Audyn and F+T capacitors. the internal wiring is very heavy gauge and the binding posts are WBT platinums. the front baffles are 1 1/8 thick and sloped for time alignment.they are rear ported designs and weigh 80 lbs each. the drivers are from Denmark and the huge crossovers are pure Symphonic Line creations from Germany. and here is the only difference between the Loreleis and the Legatos. the Lorelei cabinets are handmade in Canada and the Legato cabinets are handmade in Germany.the cabinet dimensions are 45"x8"x15" these speakers have only been playing in my system for a few hours and they already sound much better than my reference studio 100 v3 Paradigms.these babys are keepers.

Very impressive, I looked at info and reviews for around 20 different pairs of speakers over the last month, and narrowed it down to around 4 pairs, the Odyssey Lorelei being one of them. The next round of cuttoffs was ones that couldn't be used practically for home theater, since this is still about half of what I use my system for. The lack of a good quality center kind of threw me off these speakers, haven't really seen many rave reviews on the Nemesis. For 2 channel they seem to be an amazing speaker though, congrats.

i know a few guys that are using Usher center channel speakers that also use Scanspeak drivers along with the Loreleis as the main speakers in thier HT systems.

Hmm...I will have to look into that option, thanks for the heads up. Maybe my list just went back up to four choices.

    Congrats, WWIII!!

Let us know how those show the differences in the Tempest and Anthem. Speakers with as much detail as the Loreleis should just love those tubes!

i received the Loreleis on the night before the Polkfest so it has been just over one week and man has the sound of these Babys opened up. i just put three Audio Selection cones under each speaker to couple them to the floor and i cannot believe how deep the bass goes with these speakers. the tweeter blends seamlessly with the midwoofer .this is by far the best audio purchase i have ever made in my life bar none. i keep hearing things in old recordings that i am familiar with that i have never heard before and i am really loving life right about now!
