I am considering one of these, and wondering which one is better or maybe they are about the same? My budget is about $350-$450.

The PB 10 will cost you $470 with shipping. I can't honestly speak to HSU's performance, but I do know the SVS will give you a bit more heft in the 17-25 Hz range, which will really make film viewing a new experience. From what I've heard, I think the HSU would be a more musical sub, but only by a small margin. The PB 10 is great for music as well. I've never seen anyone post any disappointment with either, but I can attest to the fact that the PB 10 blew away my expectations, and I've never once thrown anything at it that it couldn't handle. It will never bottom out.

Ed Mullen (Dr. Specs) reviewed the two on HTF. I believe he liked the PB10 more because of the deeper extension.

i don't care, SVS rocks!!! :D everyone says HSU, outlaw and similiar to stay cool, so everyone doesnt say.. SVS isn't the best, their are better subs.. But seems to me most everyone has either tried only SVS or none of the other brands... So why mention it to be politically correct, if you have tried it reccomend it. Ive had 2 svs's and both kicked ****... tried 2 different polks and they were good, not great.. and a old JBL which was the **** to me before i learned about real subs... enjoy and try the one you can return and afford case you don't like it..
